It is amazing how fast time can fly. Thinking back to August last
year, how excited we all were about what was to come. I am not sure if
we could have guessed it would include as much success as we were able
to experience, and end with an OMHA Championship and a final tournament
win this past weekend.
Parents: Thank you for your support and allowing us to work with your boy. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such an enthusiastic, talented, and respectful group of players. I understand that you may not have always agreed with our approach, but you allowed us the room to do the very best we could to offer them an environment to develop, compete and have fun.
Coaches: They say success is granted to those who surround themselves with stronger people. It is the reason behind the group we assembled, and one of the many reasons why our team did as well as it did this year. I hope all parents recognize the amount of effort and time you have put in for these boys. It was a great priviledge to coach with you this year.
Players: What can we say, words can hardly express how proud we are of you. We have laughed, we have cried, we have struggled, and we have celebrated...but most of all we have sat back in awe at the way you developed throughout this season. With the dedication you have shown, you will do great things in life... in hockey or otherwise. Remember:
Talent wins Games, but TEAMWORK and HEART WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS! You have the most heart in the game, don't ever lose that.
Well, I already miss the team, and it hasn't been 24 hours since we last played. It's been an absolute honour to be your coach this year. We'll see each other again soon.
