Hockey Operations to Pause
Submitted By Paul Gray on Tuesday, January 4, 2022
In accordance with the recent announcement from Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Belle River Minor Hockey will be pausing Hockey Operations effective at 11:59 PM on Tuesday January 4th, 2022. This is in compliance with the province reverting back to a modified Stage 2 of the Re-Opening Plan.

What does this mean for games and practices scheduled for tonight (January 4)?

Where feasible, both House League and Travel games will be played. Please be sure to check your team schedule as some teams are not able to play due to reduced numbers or playing opponents from centres that are not currently operating.

Scheduled practices will remain in effect for teams who wish to use them.

Attendance at these remaining ice sessions is completely optional and is at the discretion of participants. It is expected that the decision of any family to not attend these remaining sessions will be respected.

What does this mean going forward?

We have not received any further information on the Province’s plan other than what was shared in the Press Conference earlier today.

We will endeavor to make up some or all of the programming lost during this pause if possible.

The Jr. Canadiens are dedicated to returning to the ice as soon as it is safe to do so. The health and wellness of our players remains our top priority while we continue to advocate for the mental and physical benefits of participating in sport.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Please continue to stay safe!
