Welcome to the U9 Full Ice Championships, hosted by Belle River minor Hockey Association.
This is the 1st year for this event, and it is our goal to establish this as the premier U9 tournament in Ontario for AA to C U9 teams.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR ALL PLAYERS, TEAM MEMBERS, COACHES, MANAGERS, PARENTS, and SPECTATATORS
It is understood that the purpose of this event is for the participants to have fun. It is a priority of the organizers and BRDMHA that everyone involved maintains a positive experience. It is also understood, that behaviours from anyone attending this event, that may negatively impact another's experience, will not be tolerated.
It is understood that the concepts of winning and losing, sport, competition, and the emotions that surround these concepts, MUST remain positive at all times.
It is understood that that teams and its members must be accountable for their behaviour while attending any of the 3 venues, and also while staying at our host facilities.
Negative behaviours may include, but are not limited to the following:
-Abuse of an on ice official
-Abuse of an arena employee
-Abuse of a hotel employee
-Abuse of a tournament volunteer
-Abuse of any member of any opposing team
-Abuse of any member of your own team
-Any comment or gesture that is negatively perceived as race based
-Any comment or gesture that is negatively perceived as gender based
-Any language that could be perceived as obscene, vulgar, or explicit
Complaints will be directed to the tournaments committee. And all decisions made by the tournament committee will be final without appeal.
All conduct issues will be reported back to a teams home association for further review.
REMEMBER... your fun, cannot be at the expense of someone else's.
RULES
All tournament and game rules will follows those outlined in the OMHA rules manual.
Any exception to those rules are stated below.
All game times will be 10-10-10 STOP TIME
All teams will be allowed one time out per game
Divisions
Conference A (top 32 seeded teams entering the tournament)
Conference B (remaining 18 teams entering the tournaments)
All teams are U9 and range from AA to C (NO AAA)
Tournament Format for CONFERENCE A
32 team modified elimination bracket
All Teams will play 5 games
Each game of each round will include teams playing teams with identical records.
After Round 1
16 teams with 1 win
16 teams with 1 lose
After round 2
8 teams with 2 wins (Gold Division)
8 teams that won 1st, lost 2nd (Silver Division)
8 teams that lost 1st, won 2nd (Bronze Division)
8 teams with 2 loses (Antique Division)
After round 3, Each division will have
4 teams with 1 win
4 teams with 1 loss
After round 4, Each division will have
2 teams with 2 wins (Play on Sunday for 1st and 2nd place medals)
2 teams that won 1st, lost 2nd (Play on Sunday for 3rd place medal)
8 teams that lost 1st, won 2nd (play on Sunday for Seeding)
8 teams with 2 loses (play on Sunday for seeding)
When the 5th games are completed, each team of the 32 will have a unique 5 game record, different than any other of the 31 teams.
As a result of the format, there is no need for standings
Due to the format, no games are able to end in a TIE.
OVERTIME
The following overtime rules will be in effect for CONFERENCE A
Games ending in a tie on Friday or Saturday
Games on Sunday that are NOT MEDAL GAMES
-5 minute run time, 3 on 3, sudden death overtime
-1 round sudden death shootout (may use same player twice)
Games on Sunday that are MEDAL GAMES
-10 minute stop time, 3 on 3, sudden death overtime
-1 round sudden death shootout (may NOT use same player twice)
Tournament Format for CONFERENCE B
The format of the tournament is a 1 pool round robin
There are 18 teams in the pool
Each team will play 4 round robin games, and 1 seeded playoff game Sunday
When round robin play ends, teams will be seeded 1 thru 18, to create the following games.
1 v 2 (1st and 2nd place medals)
3 v 4 (3rd place medal)
5 v 6
7 v 8
9 v 10 (1st and 2nd place medals, consolation)
11 v 12 (3rd place medal)
13 v 14
15 v 16
17 v 18
NOTE…. For games above, the Tournament Director has the authority to alter the matchups in non medal games if there is a match up where 2 teams have already played each other.
Round Robin Standings
5 points will be awarded for each round robin game (6 points for a shutout)
2 points for a win
1 point for a tie
1 point for winning a period
.5 point for a period tie
1 bonus point awarded for a shutout

Mouthguards---As per teams home Association rules
Neckguards---Mandatory for all players
Home Team Jerseys---DARK
No Advantage to goal differential (other than a game win and period win)
Referee decisions cannot be protested
Referees are employees of an independent agency, and not employees of BRDMHA
Awards
-Player of the Game awards for both teams for all games
-POTG awards are given to coaches prior to the game, and awarded to players by the coaching staff.
-POTG can be decided by own staff or opposing... coaches may decide prior to game.

VENDORS
There will be a tournament photographer located at the ATC. There will be displays and packages for purchase.
Venues
The Atlas Tube Centre is a brand new facility featuring 3 ice rinks. The feature Rock Rink is home to the Belle River Canadiens Jr. C hockey club.
Central Park Athletics is a modern recreation complex featuring 2 ice rinks. Seating is unique and is on the upper level. All viewing at ice level is standing only.
Food and Beverages
Concessions at ATC will not be open
CPA has restaurant and licensed bar
