BRDMHA will now be hosting a second REP hockey tournament annually. The new tournament, which was created to fill the void left when Novice REP hockey was abolished, will piggyback on the previous success of the Merton/Holland Tournament in the Novice division.
The 1st Annual U9 Full Ice Championship will be held on January 21-23, and hosted at the ATC. Teams from across the province will compete in the opportunity to be an undefeated U9 champion.
The tournament will host 32 teams, and feature a unique competition where each team will play 5 games over the weekend. the first round will be structured where seeded teams play, and in each of the next 4 rounds, all games will feature teams with identical records. 16 games will be played on Sunday, with the championship game featuring two 4-0 teams. At the conclusion, one team will be 5-0 and crowned the grand champion.
It's going to be a great weekend of 8 year old hockey.
